Recruiting

We are always looking for new recruits. All you need is willingness to volunteer your time, and we will provide the rest. Come by our office during business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm and fill out an application today!

Our department is a combination fire department which means we are a volunteer department that is supplemented by paid staff.  Paid personnel normally work Monday through Friday when few volunteers are available. We are always in great need of volunteers. Our department provides you with the training and equipment necessary for the job that you choose. The job may be firefighter, EMT or rescue technician.

Volunteers provide an extraordinary service to the community. The advantages for the volunteers and citizens are countless.  Volunteers provide the most cost-effective service to the community.  This always equates to a savings in tax dollars.  Additionally, volunteers develop a sense of pride
in serving their own community and they learn valuable skills that can be used in many aspects of their lives.

As a member you are expected to respond to fire or EMS calls, depending on your training. These responses will be during your free time. If you choose to be part of our EMS team, you will have pre-scheduled shifts on the ambulance. After your initial training you must also attend Tuesday evening meetings to obtain further training and discuss business matters. Every Tuesday there is a schedule meeting:

- 1st Tuesday of month: Suppression (Fire)
- 2nd Tuesday of month:
EMS
- 3rd Tuesday of month: Business
- 4th Tuesday of month: Rescue
- 5th Tuesday of month: Eatin' Meetin'

Types of Membership

Social/Support Members are those wishing to participate in the social activities of the organization. In general, Social Members do not take an active role in the department's emergency service activities.  They participate in the support functions of the department and are also eligible to attend social functions of the department.

Active members are those who have passed a program of basic training approved by the chief officers. These active members participate in emergency responses and also attend on-going training. After meeting additional training requirements, active members may also qualify to operate fire apparatus, serve as ambulance crew members, and function in other specialized roles.
